Domination Mode Guide

Domination compresses ENTRENCHED WW1 into a king-of-the-hill fight. Instead of Frontline round timers or Conquest full-map captures, Domination revolves around a central control zone — hold it long enough while preventing enemy presence, and your team wins. Flanks still exist on the map, but the hill is where tickets, artillery, and class kits matter most.

Players who treat Domination like wide Conquest wander off-point and lose despite positive kill counts. Read Getting Started for class basics, then return here when the lobby reads Domination or KOTH.

Core rules: one zone, sustained control

Domination scoring typically rewards presence in the marked hill zone over time. Exact percentages and UI labels may vary slightly by map revision — check Updates after patches — but the strategic truth stays constant:

  • Being on the hill advances your team’s control meter.
  • Enemy players inside the zone contest or reverse progress.
  • Area denial — wire, sandbags, flamethrowers, artillery — keeps opponents out long enough to bank points.

Unlike Conquest, you are not required to capture every objective on the map. Unlike Frontline, there is no alternating defense round where you ignore the center. Every class decision should answer: Does this help us own the hill right now?

Attacking the hill

“Attackers” in Domination are whichever team lacks control — roles swap fluidly as the zone flips.

Stack with purpose

Random piles on the hill die to grenades and Flamer clears. Structured hill takes use layers:

  1. Recon and Rifleman suppress from covered edges of the zone perimeter.
  2. Engineers extend sandbags and wire on the hill lip so pushes do not leave the point naked after capture. Build Fortifications covers KOTH-specific placement.
  3. Support stays close enough to resupply the hill stack without standing in the open center.
  4. Medics position one trench back for revives — dying inside the contested circle feeds enemy control during revive animations. Heal and Revive explains safe syringe angles.
  5. Assault and Flamer enter once suppressive fire lands — they clear dugouts and trenches inside the zone boundary.

Skirmishers pinch defenders who peek from lateral trenches connected to the hill. Do not chase kills away from the zone — control decays when your stack leaves.

Officer artillery on Domination

Officers unlocked at rank 5 should strike enemy stacks attempting to re-enter the hill, not random map aesthetics. A well-timed barrage during enemy regroup wins more KOTH meter than hunting Recon on far ridges. Coordinate via Call Artillery.

Defending the hill

Defenders in Domination are teams that currently own the zone or contest it tightly.

  • Pre-build before contact — Engineers who arrive after the enemy stack are already on the hill lose the opening seconds that matter most.
  • Flamer and wire choke entries — Narrow paths into the zone multiply defender time-on-point.
  • Medic anchors behind the lip — Revive teammates into cover adjacent to the hill, not in the open center where both teams shoot.
  • Recon punishes impatient pushes — Players who sprint into the circle for hero plays become free control ticks for your team.
  • Disengage when wiped — Full team wipes on the hill hand long control streaks to enemies. Regroup, artillery, then retake as a unit.

Class priorities for KOTH

All nine classes appear in Domination, but value concentrates:

ClassDomination value
EngineerBuilds cover on the hill; without fortifications, flips happen in seconds.
MedicKeeps bodies in the zone; downed players stop tick gain.
SupportSustained hill fights burn magazines faster than flank skirmishes.
FlamerClears enemy stacks contesting the center.
OfficerArtillery on enemy regroups and final pushes.
RiflemanStable perimeter gunner on hill lip.
ReconHolds angles that stop enemies entering the circle.
AssaultBreaches enemy fortifications on the point.
SkirmisherPunishes enemies leaving the hill to rotate.

Domination versus Frontline and Conquest

ModeFocus
FrontlineTurn-based attack/defense rounds with timer pressure per phase.
ConquestFull-map perpetual attack; all objectives required.
DominationSingle central zone; sustained presence wins.

Transfer skills deliberately: Frontline teaches timing, Conquest teaches map breadth, Domination teaches zone density and area denial.

Map awareness without over-flanking

Domination maps still have side trenches and sightlines. Use them to approach the hill, not to live far from it during critical meter swings. Two Skirmishers on a distant flank mean nothing if your hill stack collapses.

Recon should prioritize enemies entering the zone, not sniping spawn routes on opposite map edges unless those picks directly stop hill entrants.

Communication for pub stacks

Short callouts win KOTH:

  • Stack on hill — they contest at forty percent.”
  • Flamer on left trench into zone.”
  • Medic behind sandbags — stop reviving center.”
  • Artillery on regroup from crater north.”

Link organized groups through Wiki community resources if random lobbies ignore chat.

Mistakes that lose Domination

  1. Chasing kills off the hill — Control meter stalls; enemies backfill the zone free.
  2. Reviving in the open center — Medics gift enemy contest time.
  3. No Engineer on first capture — First flip leaves naked ground; second flip is instant.
  4. Using Officer strikes on empty map tiles — Save barrages for hill stacks.
  5. Believing promo codes help — ENTRENCHED has no official redemption system; Codes documents why shortcuts do not exist.

Fair play and client settings

Domination matches are shorter but intense. Stable frame rate on Controls recommended settings helps track Flamer and grenade telegraphs in tight zones. Avoid Scripts that automate zone presence — Roblox moderation and player reports catch obvious bots.

Continue learning

  • Build Fortifications — Hill lip sandbags and wire patterns.
  • Heal and Revive — Safe medic play under contest pressure.
  • Frontline — Practice timed pushes when Domination stacks feel disorganized.
  • Conquest — Learn split logistics when Domination feels too chaotic for your squad size.

Domination is ENTRENCHED at its most concentrated: one trench circle decides everything. Master zone presence and your team wins KOTH even when the wider map tempts you elsewhere.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for trench warfare and class play.

What is Domination mode in ENTRENCHED WW1?

Domination is a king-of-the-hill style mode where teams fight to control a central zone on the map. Sustained presence in the hill area wins more than scattered kills across the map.

How is Domination different from Conquest in ENTRENCHED?

Conquest requires attackers to capture every objective on the entire map. Domination focuses on one central control zone — map-wide ownership is not the win condition.

Which classes are best for Domination?

Engineer, Medic, Support, Flamer, and Officer excel on hill control and denial. Exact rankings shift with patches — check the Tier List and Players hub.

Should Medics revive inside the Domination hill zone?

Usually no. Reviving in the open center contests the zone for enemies. Revive adjacent to cover one trench back, then walk into the hill together.

Does Domination use turn-based rounds like Frontline?

No. Domination is continuous king-of-the-hill control without Frontline's alternating attack and defense round structure.
