Rifleman Guide

The Rifleman is ENTRENCHED WW1’s most iconic class and the role most new Roblox players should learn first. You carry a bolt-action rifle with bayonet, a fragmentation grenade, and a spade for melee finishing. That kit covers medium and long gunfights, limited trench clearing, and emergency close combat when an Assault rounds a corner. Riflemen do not have special gadgets or build tools — your power comes from positioning, patience, and landing the first shot before enemies can trade back.

Rifleman health and speed sit in the middle of the roster. You are not as tanky as Assault or as fast as Skirmisher, which is intentional: the class rewards aim and map reading instead of sprinting into crossfires. A headshot from the bolt-action rifle kills many classes outright; body shots often require a follow-up that exposes you during the cycle time. Treat every miss as a countdown timer for someone else’s kill.

Loadout breakdown

Primary — bolt-action rifle: High damage per shot, strong accuracy when crouched or prone behind sandbags. Use bayonet only when you must — it commits you to melee range where Assault and Flamer dominate.

Grenade: Arc it into bunkers and trench bends before teammates push. One good frag can clear two players off a Domination hill or break a Frontline defense long enough to capture a sector.

Spade: Last-resort melee. Useful finishing wounded Medics or Supports who panic-reload in your trench.

How to play Rifleman well

Hold strong angles on Conquest flags: doorways, berm lines, and window cuts where enemies must walk into your crosshair. Avoid wide peeks on Recon-friendly open ground — if you lose the first shot, you often lose the duel. In Frontline attack turns, play one step behind Assault and Skirmisher; throw grenades into cleared bunkers, then walk the flag. On defense, anchor with Engineer HMG lanes and let Supports suppress while you pick off targets.

Ticket discipline matters. Rifleman deaths are cheap individually but add up if you re-peek the same Recon window three times. Rotate after a kill or when spotted. Swap to Medic if your team keeps dying on push — Rifleman mains who never flex roles lose more matches than mediocre aimers who heal.

Matchups

VersusTip
Assault / FlamerKeep distance; pre-aim choke points; don’t reload in open
ReconBreak line of sight after trading; never stand still on berms
MedicHeadshot first — they drop fast if you connect
EngineerPush before HMG is fully set; flank build sites
OfficerSame as Medic — priority target when buffing pushes

Mode notes

Frontline: Reliable on both attack and defense; grenades shine in sequential sector captures. Conquest: Best generalist for rotating between flags. Domination: Strong from outer rings shooting into the hill; weaker if forced into the center stack without backup.

Compare overall strength on Class Tier List and Beginner Picks — Rifleman usually ranks high for learning. For squad composition context, read All Classes Overview. Use Class Picker if you outgrow Rifleman but are unsure what to main next.

Advanced habits

Pre-chamber awareness: know your reload timing before peeking. Coordinate grenades with Officer calls when someone spots a cluster. On mobile and console, lower sensitivity often improves bolt-action consistency — see Controls Cheatsheet.

ENTRENCHED has no official codes for class unlocks; Rifleman is available immediately. Patch changes may tweak damage falloff — check Updates Hub after major versions. Community links sit on Official Links. Avoid stat scripts discussed on Scripts Hub if you value your Roblox account.

The Rifleman will never be the flashiest pick in a lobby, but disciplined Riflemen win tickets when Assault players ego-challenge Recon across an open field. Master range, then add grenade timing. That foundation carries every other class you try later.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for trench warfare and class play.

Is Rifleman good for beginners?

Yes. Simple kit, teaches positioning and aim without demanding build mechanics or team buff timing.

Can Rifleman fight in trenches?

With grenades and bayonet, briefly — but Assault and Flamer own close quarters. Stay at the trench mouth when possible.

Does bayonet charge increase speed?

Bayonet fixes you to melee range. Use it to finish low targets, not to cross open ground under fire.

When should I stop maining Rifleman?

When your team repeatedly lacks Medics or Engineers and you are willing to flex — not because the class falls off in meta.
