ENTRENCHED Recon Class Guide
One shot, one angle — control open ground and punish exposed Supports and Medics.
The Recon class is ENTRENCHED’s long-range marksman. Your bolt-action or high-caliber rifle rewards patience, crosshair placement, and knowledge of sightlines across WW1 battlefields. Recon players who hold proper angles delete Medic and Support players leaning over sandbags, stall Assault pushes by killing the entry fragger, and force Engineers to relocate HMG nests. In tunnels and Domination dogpiles, the same kit feels helpless — map awareness defines whether Recon is S-tier or a liability.
Recon health and speed are typically lighter than frontline classes. You are not meant to stand on the capture point. Play off-angle, relocate after two shots, and treat tracers as a billboard for enemy Flankers and Assault mirrors.
Loadout and role
Primary rifle: High per-shot damage; headshots often kill in one hit. Body shots require follow-up — risky if you stay scoped on the same window.
Side tools: Faction-dependent sidearm or melee for emergencies. Do not plan to win close fights; plan to never enter them.
Spotting value: Even without Officer comms, killing the enemy Medic before a push starts is intel your team can feel. Pair with Officer binoculars when rank-5 leaders are present.
Positioning guide
Identify overwatch lanes on spawn: berms, second-story windows, tree lines on Conquest edges. Pre-aim head height at common peek spots. After firing, crouch-reposition — Recon killcam awareness is high in Roblox lobbies; repeat angles die.
On Frontline defense, cover the approach to the sector box, not the box itself. Attack turns: pick defenders on the berm before Assault throws frags. Domination: hold outer ring shooting inward; avoid the hill center where Flamer and SMG trade happen.
Counterplay you face
Skirmisher smoke blocks your lane — shift 30 meters or call push. Assault that closes distance wins — track minimap footstep clusters and fall back early. Flamer in tunnels is non-interactive for you; swap class or change lane. Engineer HMG suppresses your peek — coordinate with friendly Assault or Engineer flanks.
Matchup table
| Target | Priority | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Medic | High | Stops revives on push |
| Support | High | Static and predictable |
| Officer | High | Buffs die with the leader |
| Rifleman | Medium | Mirror duel — first shot wins |
| Assault | Low up close | Never challenge inside trenches |
Mode ratings
Conquest: Best mode — multiple long lanes and rotation timing. Frontline: Strong on defense and mid-attack pick phases. Domination: Situational; excellent if hill has outer lip, poor if spawn traps force close spawns.

Discipline checklist
- Never stand on objective glow — you become Assault practice.
- Relocate after kills; third-party Skirmishers hunt idle Recon.
- Switch to Medic if team has zero sustain on Domination.
- Use Class Picker on tunnel-heavy maps.
- Review Controls Cheatsheet for scope sensitivity on mobile.

Recon mains win by denial — space enemies refuse to cross because your first shot is credible. Build that reputation lane by lane, not by camping one window until the whole lobby learns your name.
Range discipline
Set a personal rule: if you miss two shots on the same angle, relocate immediately. Recon rewards patience but punishes stubbornness. On Conquest, mark mentally which flags have long lanes before spawn so you are not scrambling for sightlines mid-round.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for trench warfare and class play.
Recon vs Rifleman — what is the difference?
Both use bolt-style rifles at range. Recon is tuned for marksmanship and lighter flanking; Rifleman has grenades and spade for general line infantry work.
Is Recon good on mobile?
Possible with lower sensitivity and auto-fire off, but PC players often dominate long lanes. Start with Rifleman on touch controls.
Should Recon push objectives?
Rarely. Your job is to enable pushes by killing defenders before Assault arrives.
When do I swap off Recon mid-match?
When the fight moves permanently into trenches or the hill with no outer angles — Assault or Medic may add more value.
